BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

West Virginia is a special place to me because it reflects a bold, embracing sense of loyalty and ruggedness. I trusted Christ as my Savior as a teenager in my home state and from there the roots began to run deep. I enjoyed many positive influences including church members, teachers, family and friends. God has truly worked in ways that I could never comprehend. Part of His plan for me has included living in and traveling to different areas both here in the states and in foreign lands for education, missions and pleasure.

I graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I also graduated from Word of Life Bible Institute and School of Youth Ministries.

Psalm 18:1 – “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.”

EXPERIENCE

Teaching, in some form or fashion, has been a part of my life since childhood. When my professional career took a route other that teaching, I opted to stay involved in a classroom setting through the American Red Cross and Junior Achievement. Combined teaching experience spans over 11 years including a portion of that in a Christian school environment.

FAMILY

I am married to Richard Buck, the tall and handsome State Farm agent in Amherst. Richard and I have one daughter, Micah Michelle. Micah was born here at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She attends Temple Christian and is the God-given delight of our hearts! We have several animals including Baby, a lab-mix dog, Chessie, a tabby cat, Roxy, a pound pup with an incredible overbite, a turtle, and fish.

HOBBIES

I enjoy being with family, reading, following current, political, and world events, and traveling. I love the ocean and most outdoor activities.
