Dear Parents,
I hope your children enjoyed their first week of school! We are going to go above and beyond to make this the greatest year in the history of Temple Christian School!
Thank you to everyone who took time out of your busy schedules to attend the elementary and middle/high school orientation meetings. I hope many of your questions were answered on those evenings. If not, feel free to contact me here at the school at any time. If I’m unavailable at the time of your phone call, be assured that I will get back to you just as soon as possible. We want you to be well informed about everything that is taking place here at TCS, so we will send you a monthly calendar and letter, will have all information posted on the school website (www.tbc-tcs.org), and will update the new TCS hotline (846-0024 #555) each week. We no longer have the Homework Hotline, but do not fear! Our TCS hotline will be JUST AS EXCITING!!!!
Please note that beginning Monday, August 27, students may not enter the school classrooms until 8:15. We hold teacher’s meetings on a regular basis, teachers are out of the rooms making copies, etc., but by 8:15 the teachers are to be in their classrooms ready to greet your dear, sweet children! If you arrive early, you are welcome to use the daycare services, as there is no charge after 8:00. Also beginning Monday, at 8:00 all middle and high school students will go to the new cafeteria until 8:15. A staff member will be there to monitor the students until 8:15. Thanks for your assistance with this!
Sometimes our classrooms are a little cool, so students may wear solid red, white, or blue sweatshirts and/or sweaters in the classroom (the “reds” and “blues” need to be the color of our beautiful American flag!), as well as solid black sweatshirts and/or sweaters. (No letters or logos, other than approved Temple logos are acceptable.)
By now you’ve received your fall fund-raising packets. Please, please, please help us with this fund-raiser! We only have two school-wide fund-raisers per year, and they are necessary for meeting the needs of our school. As we continue to grow (Praise the Lord!!) so do our needs (i.e., science lab equipment, library needs, computer upgrades, playground expansion, etc.) Our goal of raising $25,000 is achievable if everyone participates! I would like for every to try and sell 10 items, but we need to average 13 items per student to reach the goal! If you don’t want to participate in the fund-raiser and would prefer just to make a contribution, we’ll take it! The profit for 13 items is $75.00. Thanks for helping us reach our goal! We have several areas in which the funds will be designated such as permanent fencing around all the playgrounds, and updating our computers in the computer lab.
We are currently looking for ideas for our spring fund-raiser. If you have any suggestions, please let us know! (We’re open to just about anything as long as it’s legal!!)
We’re starting a new ministry called First Fridays, which will begin Friday, September 7. At 9:00 a.m., as many of you as are willing, will meet with me in the choir room (across from my office). We will be praying for a number of students by name, and sending pre-written postcards to parents letting them know you’ve prayed for their child. If you have questions about this new ministry, please feel free to call!
Elementary soccer will be starting soon, so we will let you know about that as soon as everything has been finalized.
Please note all the special events listed on the September calendar. Welcome to a new year at Temple Christian School!
