October
2007
Dear
Parents,
Let
me begin by saying a big “THANK YOU” for
all of your help with our fall fund-raiser! With sales
and donations, our school made just over $20,000 and
I’m very pleased about that! The products are
scheduled to be delivered on Friday, October 5. Please
make every effort to pick your items up in the gym after
2:45. We don’t have the room to keep things frozen
overnight. We will have people there to help you carry
everything! I would like to take the top three sellers
to lunch on Wednesday, October 31. They are: Taylor
Adams (106 items), Tay Carpenter (68 items), and James
Johnson (63 items). Way to go!!!
The
classes who reached their class sales goal (10 items
per student) will receive a dress-down week. Teachers
will notify their classes if they qualified. The students
may wear jeans that week. However, please know that
neatness and modesty should be considered. No torn,
frayed, saggy jeans may be worn. No midriff-baring shirts
may be worn. (I’d hate to send someone home for
inappropriate dress!!) The date for the dress down week
will be October 22-26. This will be a fun week for us
here at TCS! When we wear uniforms every day, “dressing
down” becomes a treat!
If
you haven’t already, you should be receiving information
about Box Tops for Education. Please help us by turning
in box tops off items you purchase. They really add
up, and with the points earned we are able to provide
“extras” for the school that we otherwise
might not purchase. Let other friends and family members
know about this, too!
Along
those lines, Target sends us a check each year because
parents and friends of Temple Christian School use their
Target credit cards to make purchases, and a portion
of those purchases is donated to TCS! If you need another
credit card to add to your collection (and who doesn’t?!?!)
get a Target card and help Temple Christian School!
?
Parents,
please help us. If you have kindergarten and elementary
children at TCS, you may pick your kindergarten children
up at 2:45. However, even though it may be inconvenient,
you must wait until elementary dismissal time: 3:00,
to pick up your elementary children. Thanks!
Thanks
for coming out to “First Fridays” in September.
The date for “First Fridays” for this month
is October 6, and again, it is at 9:00 in the choir
room.
We’re
excited about working with Barnes and Noble for a November
Book Fair! You will be receiving more information as
the date draws nearer, but I just wanted to give you
an overview. The book fair will be held in the Barnes
and Noble store on November 13. We will be giving out
vouchers to be used on that day. For every purchase
made with one of our TCS vouchers, Barnes and Noble
will donate a percentage of the sales! Students will
be receiving vouchers, and you may pick extras up in
the school office for family members and friends. Please
let us know if you would like more to distribute at
church or in your work place! We have chosen to accept
a “store credit” to purchase books for our
ever-growing library!
Just
a couple of reminders for junior/senior high students:
Our first annual “Ring Chapel” will be held
on Wednesday, October 4. Family members are invited
to attend. Our High School Mixer will be held on Saturday,
October 6. We will be going to the Peaks of Otter for
our annual trek to the top! The PSAT examination will
be given to 10th and 11th graders on Saturday, October
20. Please see Mr. Bouldin if you have questions or
to register. The final payment for the “Set Apart”
annual mother-daughter trip is due October 22.
Welcome
Fall!!
