Music

God has blessed Temple Baptist Church with many people who are gifted in the area of music.  Each service, we seek to honor Christ and encourage His church through the ministry of music.  The music ministry at Temple offers areas of service for a variety of ages:

1.  The Adult Choir – Sings weekly in the 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. services.  Practice is at 4:15 p.m. each Sunday afternoon.  The choir enjoys monthly men and women’s fellowships.  The choir presents three special programs each year at Christmas, Easter and early fall.  Marty Sweat directs the Adult Choir.

2.  Youth Choirs – Musical groups consisting of middle school and senior high students.  The choirs sing monthly in church as well as ministering in Sunday school and in other churches.  Each summer, our youth choir competes at the Word of Life national competition in Schroon Lake, New York.  And in July of 2001, two of our Youth Choirs won first place.  Ingrid Bryant directs the Youth Choirs.

3.  The Instrumental Ensemble Temple Baptist Church has an active instrumental group.  Their mission is to glorify God through instrumental music, support congregational singing and promote individual improvement through practice, solos, and large and small ensemble performances.  Our ensemble is composed of students in middle school and high school as well as amateur musicians who have played in high school or college and now desire to use the talent for God.  Mary Crowder directs the Instrumental Ensemble.

4.  The Jubilee Singers – First through fifth grade choir.  The choir sings monthly at Temple Baptist Church.  They meet at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday evening for an exciting and energy packed rehearsal.  The choir has one special program each year (generally in the Spring) and participates in many of the adult choir programs.  Stephanie Sweat directs the Jubilee Singers.
